The visitor rules say the tower closes 30 minutes after the end of the opening hours, and visitors must have left by then. With heavy snow, freezing rain or ice on the outside stairs and the walkway at 20 m, the operator warns that visitors go up at their own risk, and the tower can close. According to its operator DPP, trial operation with passengers began on 22 September 2026. It runs every day from 7:00 to 22:15, every 10 minutes, between Újezd, Nebozízek and Petřín. The 24-hour and 72-hour tickets for Prague are valid on the funicular and the 30-minute and 90-minute tickets are not, according to PID. Check the DPP site (dpp.cz) for the current status before you rely on it. The funicular is not accessible to wheelchairs, according to PID.
The climb is demanding, with 299 steps. The lift is meant mainly for families with small children, older visitors and people with reduced mobility, and it can be out of service in bad weather. A wheelchair can reach the covered terrace at 20 m by lift; the gallery at 51 m is not wide enough for one. Pushchairs are not accepted. Open food and drinks are banned on the tower, and the bar is in the entrance hall. Animals are banned except assistance dogs.
The operator does not publish a visit length. The listing of the tower and Mirror Maze ticket gives about 1 hour for the two together; that is not an official figure.
